Introducing Sonja Briggs

Sonja Briggs (Dip.KWS) is a Swiss citizen who qualified as a nurse in Basel, Switzerland. She has worked on many hospital wards, including the children’s unit and the women’s ward. Over the last thirteen years Sonja has become a specialist oncology nurse, assisting patients in the women’s day clinic at the University Hospital, Basel.

Some of the medical care services which Sonja will provide to travelling visitors include:

• Monitoring and control of blood pressure and pulse

• Taking of blood samples and control of blood sugar levels

• Management of prescribed diabetes treatment (including insulin injections)

• Management and allocation of prescribed medicaments

• All injections (intravenous, intramuscular, subcutaneous)

• Intravenous infusions as per prescribed medications

• Treatment of dehydration as well as treatment of wounds and lesions

• First aid assistance for sunburn, skin infections, bites, high temperature, etc
