Namaqualand: the silences of Autumn
Namaqualand in the North West of the country is the land of the Nama, an ancient civilization for whom these vast and arid plains are home.
Most people converge on the tiny towns of Springbok, Kakamas and Upington during August and September when the Spring flowers carpet the landscape in an annual miracle of colour. We enjoyed the silences of Autumn, the sunsets and starry skies of this remote yet accessible wilderness.
